Rev. Gary E. Mathiesen is pastor of our church. He received his B.A. degree (1977) from Simpson College, Redding, California and the M.Div. degree (1982) from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. Gary served as an Associate Pastor for seven years before coming to Shepherd of the Hill as pastor in June of 1991.
Brett Shoemaker, Director of Youth and Education, graduated from Whitworth College in 1994 and shortly after was married to his wife Wendy. Brett especially enjoys outdoor activities including golf, skiing, ultimate frisbee, and racquetball, and attempts to wind down on a nearby guitar or piano. He also has a history of summer camp leadership experience which he loves to use in this ministry. Brett is the Youth Ministry Director for grades 7-12. His ministry focuses on the message of Jesus Christ, and the ways youth can make Him more a part of their lives.
