Rev. Gary E. Mathiesen is pastor of our church. He received his B.A. degree (1977) from Simpson College, Redding, California and the M.Div. degree (1982) from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. Gary served as an Associate Pastor for seven years before coming to Shepherd of the Hill as pastor in June of 1991.

Susan Boyles, Director of Children's Ministry, coordinates Sunday School, God's Gang (youth group for grades 3-6,) and Vacation Bible School. Her focus is to provide fun and positive faith-building experiences for children. She graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in 1997, and married her husband Doug a year later. They moved to Washington state in 2002. Susan has two kids, son Ryley and daughter Josie. When not working, Susan can be found volunteering at her children's schools, or relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good book.

Mattt Johnstone will be working as an intern for at least three months with our young adults as the Young and Emerging Adults leader. As a high school student, Matt was a part of Shepherd's youth ministry. He went on to college and just recently graduated with a Masters in Divinity degree.
